STATEMENT
古い宗教画のなかの天使やシンボライズされたモチーフ等を見つめていると、
恍惚とした心地のなかで自分が絵を描いている理由を再確認することができる。
文字を読むことのできなかった人たちのために、
あるいはその伝記の内容を知らない人たちのために、
描かれたイメージは語りはじめる。
羽根を付けた子どもの姿や竪琴や泉として仮の形態を纏って、
未知と神秘を図解してくれている。
未知と神秘は宗教画の中に限ったことではない。
多次元世界や日常の中で感じる何らかの気配、
生と死、そのような説明することが難しい領域や視覚的に把握することのできない世界に形を与えたい。
これはどこか依代とも似ている。
抽象概念や明確な形を持たずに漂うイメージたちの依代として一枚の絵がうまれる。
イメージと意味、形象と象徴を組み合わせたり分解させたりしながら描くこと自体の不思議を旅していきたい。

The unknown and the mystery are not limited to religious paintings.
I want to give form to the multidimensional world, to some sign we feel in our daily lives, to life and death,
and to such other realms that are difficult to explain or that cannot be grasped visually.
This is somewhat similar to "yorishiro" in which an object a divine spirit or any invisible object is believed to dwell.
A picture is created as a yorishiro for abstract concepts and images drifting without form.
